Conductor's Circle 2010

Last Thursday evening the Albany Symphony held its annual Conductor's Circle celebration, honoring the many individuals whose strong, generous, and loyal support sustains the many live performances, educations programs, and composer residencies we offer throughout the entire Capital Region area.

We give special thanks to our hosts, Shannon and Matthew Amodeo, for their gracious hospitality and for opening up their beautiful home and grounds for our event. Over 180 guests dinned under an elegant white tent overlooking the beautiful Mohawk River Valley. Master Chef Jim Rua and his team from Cafe Capriccio provided a scrumptious meal, ideally created for a warm summer night.

To conclude the evening's festivities, David Alan Miller and members of the Albany Symphony performed Copland's Appalachian Spring as the sun set and the sky illuminated with breathtaking shades of amber, purple, and blue. During the mystic final bars of Copland’s piece, birds began to sing along with the musicians, providing a perfect and moving bond between the music and the nature around us.
