Community Engagement
““The Albany Symphony is a treasure for the Capital Region. The beauty of their concerts makes my spirit soar!””
In Good Company – Senior Access Initiative
This program is a creative social connectedness initiative designed to foster a creative community for low-income seniors in the region through musician visits and concert attendance, with transportation provided to remove as many barriers as possible to their access. For the 2024-25 season, Albany Symphony is partnering with CDPHP to provide access to seniors who participate in Colonie Senior Services and LifePath. We hope to see more partners to expand access.
Tunesday
The Albany Symphony joins Albany BID’s free lunchtime concert series! Grab a bite from your favorite neighborhood spot and enjoy Tunesday in Jim DiNapoli Park at Broadway and Pine St.
Open Rehearsals
While Open Rehearsals are an exclusive opportunity for donors as thanks for supporting the Albany Symphony, select rehearsals are also opened up to student groups and feature a question & answer session with visiting artists and composers.
Concert Previews and Panels
Held at various community venues, concert previews and panels provide insights and a chance to connect to the artists, the history and social issues, and the music of the Albany Symphony.
Make Music Day
Make Music Day (June 21) is an international annual celebration of music everywhere. It began in France in 1982, and its reach has been widening ever since. This year, the Albany Symphony lifted the banner with an instrument “petting zoo” and percussion craft table.
