Albany Symphony Film Music Festival

Albany Symphony kicks off its 2023-24 season with a Film Music Festival Weekend October 5th through 8th in Albany and Troy. Thursday Oct. 5 at 7:30pm, pianist Kevin Cole returns to the Capital Region for an intimate Hollywood Cabaret solo recital featuring beloved favorite songs from the Golden Age of film at the Troy Saving Bank Music Hall. On Saturday, Oct. 7, at 7:30pm, Music Director David Alan Miller leads the ASO in Soundtrack NY, a concert featuring selections from West Side Story, King Kong, Breakfast at Tiffany’s and more at Albany’s Palace Theatre. On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 7:30pm, rocker Tommy Tallarico and his band join the Symphony for Video Games Live, an immersive music experience featuring music and videos from World of Warcraft, Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Halo, Skyrim, The Last of Us, Kingdom Hearts and more at the Palace.

The Albany Symphony and the Empire State Youth Orchestra join forces in a free concert of popular movie and video music including selections from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana, and Howl’s Moving Castle. This concert is made possible by the Innovation Partnership, MVP Health Care and the County of Albany.
You can also PLAY-IN! Bring your instrument and join the Albany Symphony and Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) on stage and play-in on one of the most iconic pieces in film music history.

Plus—a special guest appearance by pianist Kevin Cole performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Rivets!
