2023 marks the 200th anniversary of the completion of the Champlain Canal, and Canal Society of New York State is celebrating with a free brass quintet performance at Jennings Landing on Sunday, October 8 at 10am!

October 6th
Tour the nationally-recognized Scarano Boat yard on Albany's waterfront
Visit the wealth of canal sites in Waterford on a walking tour with the town historian
Evening presentation at the Peebles Island visitor center
October 7th
Day-long bus tour including a visit to the historic hydroelectric plant in Mechanicville, birding chat with the Audubon Society of the Capital Region, and a visit to the new Canal Region Visitor Center in Schuylerville to learn more about the nearby Hudson Crossing Park, along with stops at multiple historic canal sites and a visit to the Five Combines locks of the Glens Falls Feeder Canal.
Lunch (included) will be hosted by the Fort Edward Fire Department.
Evening cruise on the Hudson River with Dutch Apple Cruises
October 8th
Performance of canal music by the Albany Symphony Orchestra at 10am at Jennings Amphitheater, on the Hudson River waterfront (free and open to the public).
Tour of Battenkill Fibers, a mill near Schuylerville that manufactures yarn and fiber products using refurbished traditional milling machinery .
