This Winter at the Albany Symphony!

After an exciting holiday season featuring performances by some of the Capital Region's most talented young musicians, Yo-Yo Ma and John Corigliano's evocative Symphony No. 1, the Albany Symphony will begin the winter season with Brahms Fourth Symphony and an epic undersea adventure with vocalists from Bard College Conservatory.  

From fun family concerts to timeless masterpieces and thrilling world premieres, here is a preview of what you will hear and see this winter at the Albany Symphony.

Embark on a thrilling undersea musical adventure with Maestro Miller and the Albany Symphony to a wildly imaginative world filled with great symphonic music. Help Do-re find her voice and discover how to sing! Join the Albany Symphony and four brilliant young singers in an epic undersea operatic adventure featuring music by Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, and Puccini.  Tickets are $20 for adults and children are free courtesy of GE Kids in Free Days.

KARINA CANELLAKIS CONDUCTS BRAHMS FOURTH // SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2017 AT THE PALACE THEATRE.

Rising star conductor and contemporary of Sir Simon Rattle, Karina Canellakis makes her Albany Symphony debut with Brahms' Fourth and final symphony and Dance Card by American composer, Jennifer Higdon.  The concert also features Beethoven’s delightful but rarely heard Triple Concerto performed by her brother Nicholas and the Brown-Urioste-Canellakis Trio. 


MOZART & BACH // SATURDAY, MARCH 4, 2017 AT THE TROY SAVINGS BANK MUSIC HALL.

David Alan Miller and the Albany Symphony return to the elegant Troy Savings Bank Music Hall to premiere "Concertinos" by Michael Torke.  Commissioned by the Albany Symphony after the premiere of "Three Manhattan Bridges," "Concertinos" is a melodic and exuberant new work consisting of three miniaturized concertos for Oboe, Clarinet, and Bassoon. 

The concert will also feature one of Mozart's great, final Symphonies - the magnificent No. 40 in G-minor and Bach's exquisite Cantata No. 78.
