Free concert for the entire community!

The Albany Symphony and the Empire State Youth Orchestra join forces in a free concert of popular movie and video music including selections from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Moana, and Howl’s Moving Castle. This concert is made possible by the Innovation Partnership, MVP Health Care and the County of Albany.

You can also PLAY-IN! Bring your instrument and join the Albany Symphony and Empire State Youth Orchestra (ESYO) on stage and play-in on one of the most iconic pieces in film music history.

Musical scenes from a cinematic state! Music Director David Alan Miller conducts music from movies set in or created by composers from the Empire State. Selections include West Side Story (Leonard Bernstein), Mudbound (Tamar-kali), The Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore), Taxi Driver (Bernard Herrmann), King Kong (Max Steiner), Breakfast at Tiffany’s (Henry Mancini) and more. Plus—a special guest appearance by pianist Kevin Cole performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Rivets!
