Based on recent guidance from local and national resources regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Albany Symphony is canceling its performances this weekend on Saturday, March 14 and Sunday, March 15 at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. This decision comes out of the Symphony’s concern for the health and safety of its audience members, performers, and the community at large. “This was a difficult but important decision. We regret we are not providing our audience members with the wonderful concert experience that was planned,” said Executive Director Anna Kuwabara.
In addition, the Albany Symphony is canceling its Sunday Symphony Family Concert on March 22 again because of its health and safety concerns and because of the closure of its venue, the Zankel Music Center, to public events on the Skidmore College campus.
At this time, the Symphony has not yet canceled or postponed any other concerts, with the understanding that the situation is dynamic and the health and safety of the community is always paramount. They will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely.
Those who purchased tickets to any canceled events should let contact the Albany Symphony by email (patronservices@albanysymphony.com) or by calling the Box Office (518-694-3300).
“We thank everyone for their patience and understanding during these uncertain times and look forward to welcoming the community back to our concerts and events as soon as possible,” said Kuwabara.
